Laws intended to protect teenagers actually criminalise them

Laws that criminalise the taking or distributing of photographs of children under 18 are being broken regularly by chidren themselves.

16, 17 and 18 year olds are not chidren in anybody’s view except for that of the UN and governments who have slavishly enshrined the UN view into law.

Teenagers naturally become interested in sex as their hormones start to flow. In the past the boys would use mirrors to look up the girl’s skirts as they walked by in class or upstairs on the bus. Now they all use mobile phones and so become criminals.

Once convicted of sexual offences their futures are severely limited. Was this the intention or is it an unexpected by product of ill thought out legislation? There is a huge difference between young people experimenting and real predators taking advantage of the vulnerable and current laws do not differentiate.

We need to repeal this nonsense because it would have criminalised the publication of glamour photos of Sam Fox and Linda Lusardi in the Sun back in the seventies and prevented them from making their fortunes.

The only people happy with it are the New Puritans who want to regulate everything and everyone into a grey miasma of misery.

Why buy and improve your home so that the government can steal it?

Do not for an instant imagine that the houses and homes we are all encouraged to buy are actually ours. All that owning your own home does is remove one layer of renting.

Don’t believe me? Council tax is just another form of rent. Fail to pay it and you will lose your home. Fail to comply with orders from the council restricting what you can do with your property and just like any other landlord they will move to crush your resistance and eventually take your home from you.

Even worse is what happens to people who have done nothing to warrant the state theft of their homes. If the council, the government, or even a private developer who thinks that they can make better use of your property than you can, wants hour home then there is a disgusting little law that gives them the right to apply for a Compuslory Purchase Order (CPO).

The Woldehiwot family had bought tinto the property owning dream and bought their flat. Ealing Council wanted to demolish it as part of a £300 million deelopment. When the Woldehiwots refused the council’s offers to buy their property the council used bailiffs to have them forcibly evicted having served them with a CPO.

The council’s offer was insufficient to enable the Woldehiwots to buy any kind of property in London. The council offered to rehome them in a part ownership scheme property and allow them to purchase the remaining portion at a later date.

People living in the path of HS2 were forced to hand over their homes under threat of compulsory purchase. When the project was shelved they did not get first offer to buy back their homes. Instead the company is letting them out for a profit. £8.9m a year is a tidy profit.

We are supposed to live in a property owning democracy. A nice ideal that does nothing to help those who have invested not only their money but their time and memories into their homes, or who have been the umpteenth generation to live in their property only to see them snatched away by a greedy company with full government support.

It is time to end the nightmare of compulsory purchase and force those who want to buy property to offer the full market value. 

What is the market value? Whatever the owner will accept. And if they won’t accept any offer, that should be their prerogative because that property is theirs. Not yours. Not some greedy company’s. Certainly not the government’s.

Some call it Karma, others vengeance

The sounds of a marching army thundered in the distance. The angels in charge of the bridge between heaven and earth looked at each other and then back out along the winding path leading to the bridge.

What could it be? Another war? An army annihilated? No such news had reached them.

Then they began to see the endless army of large dogs, heads held low, tails a-droop, tramping slowly towards the bridge.

Each creature and human must be judged before passing over. For some there will never be a way across. For others a return to life on earth provides a chance to right the wrongs they have done.

The angels scanned each of the approaching souls. Lives wrongly ended too soon. Faithful dogs whose only crime was their looks.

“Pass All”. Said the angels, weeping for the wrongs done to these majestic animals.

“NO” roared the dogs with one voice. “We will not pass”. We wait, not for the people we love, but to avenge their sorrow and tears at what was done to us.”

“Look down to the earth and see the tears flowing in a river of sorrow and despair.”

“Our job was, and is, to protect our families. We will not fail to prevent their heartbreak a second time. How could they be happy on the other side if those who caused their despair could walk among them?”

‘We will wait here to avenge the wrongs done to our beloved families even if it means we can never pass.”

“Someday those who did this to us and ours will come this way and we will be waiting, thinking only of every tear our owners shed and every aching heart that never heals. “

The angels wept and put their arms and wings around the noble and faithful dogs and tried to soothe their hurt and anger but with every tear that was shed on earth and every new addition to the growing pack as politicians and campaigners gloated over the cull and blamed the blameless, the dogs’ determination and anger grew.

The harm done to the innocent by breed specific legislation is very real and the blame lies with craven politicians thinking to earn votes by doing the bidding of campaigners who know full well the harm done every time breed bans are imposed.

For every evil act that is done on this earth there will be an answering. Some call it Karma, others vengeance. Each should remember that they will ultimately be judged.
